New Years Eve

For New Years Eve we went over to Kenny & Connie's for our traditional fireworks! This year no one was afraid and both Megan and Tyler wanted to "help"! They both held onto to their own sparklers very safely and then Kenny let them each "help" light a big one!! I'm a little concerned about their "no fear"! Ha!! Hope everyone has a Happy New Year!

New Years Eve Morning

New Years Eve was a busy day! In the morning one of my best friends from high school - Kristen and her family came over for brunch. Kristen and I have know each other for about 25 years! It was fun to see all our kiddos growing up and having a good time together - especially the 2 Megans!

Disney Playhouse Live!

We took the kiddos to see Disney Playhouse Live tonight - all their favorites - Mickey, Minnie, Tigger, Pooh and Little Einsteins. Megan loved the cotton candy and Tyler couldn't get enough popcorn. The funniest part of the evening was at the end when they were all singing and dancing and I asked Megan if she wanted to go in the aisle and dance. She said yes and immediately started walking up the aisle (we were on the floor about 14 rows back) towards the stage. She got about 5 rows up when Steven caught her. The pic of her crying was when she came back and realized what happened - I think she was a little embarrassed because then she only wanted to sit with me and not dance anymore - too sweet!

Christmas Day!

Megan got up about 4am saying her arm hurt so she stayed with us for awhile. By 7:30 Tyler still wasn't awake and Megan began crying "but he's my best friend, we need to wake him up!" The funny part was she walked back and forth from the toy room to our room 4 or 5 times, each time passing the living room and never once noticed the presents. We finally woke Tyler up about 8:00 and they were both so excited to see their presents! Tyler loved his Art Center and Transformer toys the best and Megan is in love with her new Bitty Baby Twins and stroller. She also got a JoJo's Circus costume which she put on for about 3 minutes - but at least she let me take her pic!! Hope everyone had a Merry Christmas!

Christmas Eve

The kiddos took one last pic in their new pjs and robes with their little elves. Santa said he would pick them up when he dropped off their presents. Hopefully they can come back next year!

The Tooth Fairy and Santa in the same night!!!!

Tyler has had his first VERY loose tooth for quite a few weeks now. The first pic is a before shot and then the next pics are the excitement after!! We went over to Kenny & Connie's after Christmas Eve mass for dinner and Connie "wiggled" his tooth and out it popped!! He was soooo excited at the thought of the Tooth Fairy and Santa all in one night!! The tooth fairy left him a gold dollar!

Christmas Eve Church

Amazzzzzziinnngglly Tyler and Megan lasted all of church - no potty breaks, no fits, no cups rolling down the pews in front of us. Everyone was happy, happy!

Pajama Day at School

Tyler's school had pajama day on the last day of school before Christmas break. He was so excited when I found Pirates of the Carribean ones with an eye patch!! His teacher was sweet to let us take her picture and what I thought was a candy cane necklace she was wearing magically turned into an eye patch for the picture - too cute!!

Megan's Christmas Program

Megan had her preschool program on Dec 19th. The 2 year old classes are the "Twinkling Stars" for the song "Twinkle, Twinkle, Christmas Star". Megan wouldn't look at us as she walked by and wouldn't sing on the stage but at least this year there were no tears!! She held hands with the little friend sitting next to her and didn't let go till they were back in their room!

"Great"

Steven's Grandma "Great" came down a week before Christmas for her yearly visit and will stay till the end of Jan.

Basketball Practice

One of the Dads on the team has a professional camera and took some great pics of the kids at their 2nd practice.

The Dreaded Pink Eye!!

Yuck-o!! Somehow, somewhere this weekend Tyler picked up the worst, most explosive, pink eye virus I have ever seen! We went to visit my Dad in the hospital Sun and my Mom noticed a little gunk in his eye and within 4 hrs he looked like someone had punched him in the face. After a few calls to the Dr, his fever at 102 and his eye almost swollen shut, we decided about 9:00 pm to take him to the ER. He was a little too excited to be there at first and then crashed! Mamma Debbie Redditt just couldn't stay away and showed up about 11:00 and thankfully about 11:05 we were taken to a room. Poor guy stayed home from school for 3 days and still has blood shot eyes but thankfully is on the road to recovery! The icing on the cake is that Megan came home from preschool on Monday and about half an hour later had gunk in her eye - LOVELY!!
Good news is that their bubbles should be arriving shortly and I figure their teachers can just roll them around their schools so that we don't come in contact with anymore GERMS!!

Our Gingerbread House!

We created our annual Gingerbread House. You can always tell that everyone had a great time when sprinkles are all over the floor and I have icing all over my shirt! Tyler and Megan were so proud of the finished product. The reason Megan is not in the picture is because she is having a fit in the living room because I put icing on her dear brother's face. He tried to convince her that it was all right but by then she was past the point of no return! The funny part is that I kept looking at the Gingerbread House and it looked like some of the candy was melting after a few days. I finally realized that she was going over to it and licking it!! I moved it a little higher so now she can't reach it - ha!

Houston Symphony - Twas the Night Before Christmas!

On Saturday, Tyler and I went to the Houston Symphony to see their "Twas the Night Before Christmas" sing-a-long performance. Tyler had a great time - they had art projects and a giant gingerbread house and a Santa. I asked someone to take our pic next to the tree but it came out a little blurry. We went to lunch after at Pappadeaux's (Tyler wanted shrimp) and had a lovely time on our little date!

Steven Coaches Basketball!

Steven volunteered to be Tyler's Basketball Coach for his YMCA Basketball Team - the Wolverines! Tonight was their first practice and they all (Coach and players) did great! The boys really listened to Steven and Steven was actually excited about how it went - yahoo!!

Mother Goose Day!

On Nov 30th Tyler's school had a Mother Goose Day and all the kids got to dress up as their favorite Mother Goose Character. Tyler picked Jack from Jack & Jill. We found him a crown and broke it and he had a water pail and we made him a shirt. I kept trying to put the crown on straight and he kept trying to tilt it to the side like it was broken - so smart!! It was Steven's birthday so he took the day off to read to Tyler's class and Tyler got to be on the announcements again! It turned out to be his teacher's birthday too so Steven brought lunch for her and Tyler.

Elf Magic!!

I heard about this little elf idea from a book "Elf on the Shelf" and then my friend Kristen posted on her blog a similar idea so I decided to steal it, tweak it and make it my own (Thanks Kristen!!). I searched all over for little elves and decided to start our new tradition on Dec 1st. It actually worked out perfectly because the kids were being cranky with Steven so Tyler told me that Daddy had called Santa, only Santa was busy so he had to talk to the elves. That night while they were sleeping Santa wrote a letter and left it on our Christmas tree. His letter said that he had heard that Daddy tried to call and he hoped they were being nice and not naughty! He was leaving 2 little elves to watch over them and to let him know if they were being naughty or nice for Christmas. He also told us that the elves were a little mischievous so the kids better keep an eye on them. Santa said he would pick them up on Christmas Eve. The kids were too funny when they woke up! The elves had thrown all of their underwear on the floor and were hiding in their drawers. They were shocked to read the letter and realized that Santa knew that Daddy had tried to call! They have been sleeping with their elves each night and I hear that the elves really cause trouble on the weekends!! I am hoping this becomes a yearly tradition and each Nov 30th (Steven's b-day) we will write a letter to Santa asking him to drop the elves off! Tyler and Megan have actually been on their best behavior the last few days, especially when I remind them that their elves are watching! Hopefully it will last till Christmas Eve!!

Pictures with Santa!

We went to visit Santa at the mall today! Megan was waving like crazy from about 100 feet away and as we got closer she got quieter and quieter. She finally looked up at me and said. "I'll just hold Tyler's hand and Tyler can sit on his lap." You could just see her little wheels turning trying to figure out how she was going to get out of this one!!! Sure enough Tyler sat on Santa's lap and Megan walked up and stood right next to him! Good news is that everyone smiled and there were no tears. After Santa gave Megan her candy he blew her a kiss and she blew one back - too cute!!
