My Parents New Pool!!

After 30 yrs, a delay from IKE and a crooked contractor . . . my parents finally have an amazing pool in their backyard! The kids love it and its been so much fun spending every Sunday swimming. Both kids have already gotten so much better at swimming, Megan especially has gained a ton of confidence!

Swim Team

The kids both swam on swim team this summer. Thankfully they were both still in 6 & under because Tyler's birthday is one day after the cut-off! Megan was called an assisted swimmer till about the last week of swim team when she realized she could swim by herself. Tyler improved so much in freestyle and received quite a few first place ribbons. The pictures attached are from one of the first meets where he came in first by about 3 body lengths! The last picture is with his coach - he received Gator of the Week for good sportsmanship! Tyler also got invited to the Meet of Champions for freestyle. We are so proud of him! PS He's the whitest kid with the green goggles in the pics and Megan has the pink goggles! :)
Megan's Dance Recital Dinner & Presents

Since this was our first year of dance we were informed by the other mommies that EVERYONE gets flowers and gifties after the recital. Who knew? We went to dinner and ice cream after the recital with my parents, Steven's parents and Susie. Megan got a Precious Moments ballet girl from my parents and a little silver dance bracelet from Steven's parents. We gave her a James Avery ballet shoes charm to go on her charm bracelet. It was like Christmas all over again!
Megan's Dance Recital Rehearsal

Megan has been taking Dance all year and I have been dreading the recital because I just knew that there was NO way she was going to wear the scratchy costumes or let me put make-up on her. Well HUGE surprise as soon as I got her hair in the buns and sprayed her all over with glitter she was a new person and couldn't wait for the make-up or tights or scratchy costumes! Who knew all it took was a little glitter! For their tap routine they wore hot pink and animal print and danced to Cheetah Baby. Their ballet was purple and white and they danced to Somewhere Out There while holding matching teddy bears - it was too cute!!
Tyler's Last Day of School

On the last day of school Tyler said he wanted to bring his 1st grade teacher and his kindergarten teacher donuts. Of course by the time we got to the donut place they were almost out of everything!! Tyler was a little weepy and sad to be leaving his school and friends because he will be going with me to the new school next year. Megan and I decided to try to cheer him up by squirting him with silly string when he got off the bus. It worked!!
