Tyler's 6 year old pics

We took Tyler to take his 6 year old portraits and thankfully everyone was in a good mood!! The first picture is of Tyler when he was only 6 mths old - just a little walk down memory lane - remember that giant head!! Megan was actually happy to have her picture taken too so we were able to get a cute one of her by herself and one of them together!

Swim Team

The kiddos started swim team this week. Tyler swam last year but this is Megan's first experience. It has been freezing the last two days but the kids still hop right in and then hop right out with blue lips and shaking like leaves but they both seem to love it - thank goodness!!

Giant Waterslide

Tyler's favorite present was a gigantic blow up water slide from Mamma Debbie Redditt and Papa Steve. It took Steven and I about an hour to figure it out and Steven had to actually cut down some tree limbs. It barely fits in our backyard but the kids LOVE it!!

More Birthday Celebrations

Tyler's 6th Birthday celebration lasted all week! The first pic is of Megan and her little friends jumping at the party - Megan LOVES the trampoline!! On his actual birthday we went out for Tyler's favorite dinner that he requests each year - a Japanese Hibachi restaurant! Tyler was also able to bring cupcakes to his school to share with his friends! The day after his birthday we had a baseball game and Tyler asked if we were going to lunch after. I asked where he wanted to go and he said he wanted wings from Hooters - of all places! When we got there he told the waitress that his birthday was the day before so after we ate (now the place is packed) 4 Hooters girls - yikes - came over with a microphone and took Tyler to the middle of the restaurant to Hula Hoop while they sang Happy Birthday. I had no idea he could Hula Hoop and he only dropped it once! He had the biggest smile on his face - I think I should be worried!! ha!!

Tyler's 6th Birthday!!

Tyler's 6th Birthday turned into a week of celebrations!! We were suppose to have a pool party but had to cancel the morning of the party because of the rain. Thankfully gymnastics was able to get us in that evening and most everyone was still able to make it! Tyler loved his Optimus Prime Transformer cake - it was very yummy! Tyler's favorite presents were his Heely's (which we are still trying to figure out) and his giant water slide!

Tyler's Baseball Team - Astros!

Tyler is having a lot of fun playing t-ball this spring. The first pic is my favorite! He kicks his leg up so high right before he hits or throws the ball - everyone on the team thinks its so funny but he always hits and throws it hard! Whatever it takes to make the big bucks - ha! He was so excited when we finally got to play against one of our playgroup friends! About a week ago we started officially counting outs at first base and the coaches told the kiddos that for every "out" they got, the coaches would run the bases. The boys thought that was a riot!! The last pic is of his team singing Happy Birthday to him - he was very surprised!

Megan's Soccer Game

Megan is still loving soccer and actually did pretty well a few games ago and almost made a goal - if the goal had been just a few feet wider the ball would have gone right in!! The 3rd picture is of her trying to explain to me how she kicked it and how the other girl kept getting in her way! Update: We just played the little blond girl's team again today 5/10 (in the first pic) and this time she and Megan started getting into it a little and actually pushing each other to get the ball. Of course no pushing allowed but it was a little exciting!!

Petting Zoo Party

One of Megan's little friends invited us to her Petting Zoo party. Megan was enamored with the little pony and was not thrilled about having to take turns. She loved the baby animals from a distance and would squeal in delight and then squeal in terror when they got too close!

Megan and her Dolly

It was time for Megan to get a new leotard for gymnastics and wouldn't you know it the sewing lady had started making matching leotards for the American Girl dolls! Megan was so proud to match her dolly!

Bowling with Ms. Gdala and PE with Principals

At Tyler's spring auction we won an opportunity for Tyler to have after school PE time with his Principals and bowling with his teacher Ms. Gdala. He thought he was the luckiest kid in town!!

Field Trip to the Zoo

Tyler's Kindergarten class took a field trip to the Zoo and Steven got to go as a chaperon. Tyler was thrilled that Daddy was able to go and could not stop talking about the tunnel inside the fish tank. They were both exhausted when they got home!

Ruff Riders

Last year we went to a few of our local Intense Arena Football games. The kids had such a blast watching the Ruff Riders that this year we got season tickets with my family. We went to their first home game and the kids loved it - they even got to go on the field after the game and meet some of the players!
